CAPE & ISLANDS DESIGN GUIDE
Life in Color
10th anniversary edition
In a stunning transformation of a Cape Cod vacation home on Scraggy Neck, interior designer Jocelyn Chiappone, founder of DIGS Design Company, showcases her signature style of refined comfort and vibrant pattern play. Partnering with architect J.B. Clancy, this renovation elevated a modest early-2000s structure into a warm, breezy family retreat full of character and color.
“This project was a renovation and addition on an existing house,” Chiappone explains. “We emphasized an open layout with plenty of light and airflow. It needed to feel welcoming for guests and large family gatherings.”
Chiappone’s design vision is on full display with custom Stout fabric sectionals adorned in Harlequin pillows, a Loom & Co rug, and natural textures like Mainly Baskets wicker pieces that add warmth and organic sophistication. The light fixtures from Coleen & Co. and Hudson Valley complete the home’s elegant coastal vibe.
“One of my favorite design moves was how seamlessly we added integration with the existing structure,” says Chiappone, noting her strategic use of one-story ceiling heights to craft intimacy within open rooms. “They knew their vibe and embraced it from day one. They were simply dream clients—trusting, open to ideas, and ready to have some fun with color and pattern.”
As a sought-after interior designer with a growing digital presence, this feature highlights DIGS Design’s ability to blend sophistication with livable charm—making this project a standout for any design enthusiast or potential client exploring Jocelyn’s unique creative approach.
