CAPE COD HOME
A Room With a View of Provincetown
WINTER 2025
In Cape Cod Home’s Winter 2025 feature, “Special Spaces: A Room with a View of Provincetown,” interior designer Jocelyn Chiappone of Digs Design Company plays a central role in transforming LaBarge Homes’ new Provincetown office into a jewel-box workspace that perfectly balances function, character, and coastal sophistication. Tasked with reimagining a compact 9-by-12-foot room perched on the third floor of historic Whalers Wharf, Chiappone approached the project “with the precision of a set designer,” crafting a space that feels richly layered, purposeful, and deeply tied to its Cape Cod surroundings.
Her vision began with a bold palette—an ink-blue wallpaper animated with fish and waves, paired with darker-toned trim and ceiling to create height and drama. “It’s amazing what color and scale can do in a small environment,” Chiappone notes. “I wanted it to feel layered, tactile, and unmistakably coastal without leaning on clichés.” Materials like pecky cypress wainscoting, a warm walnut meeting table, and a sculptural rattan chandelier demonstrate her ability to blend historical character with modern coastal design.
Chiappone’s skill in maximizing small spaces shines through thoughtful built-ins, concealed storage, and a layout that supports both collaborative and private work. The result is an office that doubles as an experience—showcasing LaBarge Homes’ craftsmanship while elevating their client interactions.
This feature underscores Chiappone’s signature design ethos: refined coastal style, meticulous detailing, and a deep understanding of how space can tell a story.
