In a recent interview with LexTalks, Jocelyn Chiappone, founder of Digs Design Company, shared insights into her personal and professional journey, reflecting her unique design philosophy. When asked about her preferred location for a second home, Chiappone expressed a fondness for Italy, mentioning a recent trip, and also highlighted Harbor Island as a desirable spot.

Describing her style in three words, she chose “fun,” “effortless,” and “layered.” Reflecting on her early design inclinations, Chiappone recounted painting her childhood bedroom entirely in mauve during 1982, including the walls, trim, and millwork, and upholstering her dresser in a matching Marimekko mauve print.

Her first significant home investment was a comprehensive kitchen renovation, tailored with all desired appliances and details. This project garnered recognition, being selected as House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Month.

Chiappone admires designer Amanda Lindroth for her distinctive style and engaging personality, noting, “I would imagine her clients love her.” She believes no room is complete without printed fabrics and enjoys incorporating lots of prints, colors, textiles, and great accessories into her designs.

She humorously admits to a soft spot for vintage mirrors, especially rattan and wicker ones, as potential late-night online purchases. Chiappone's design work aims to ensure each project stands independently, representing a truly unique and celebrated design.

This interview offers a glimpse into Chiappone's creative process and personal tastes, highlighting her commitment to creating individualized, vibrant spaces that reflect her clients' personalities and preferences.
